Well, we had our lovely Harper on May 5. In honor of Cinco de Mayo my family has lovingly nicknamed her little Guadalupe! Everything really went well and she was born at about 12:15. She had a bit of jaundice, but her levels weren't high enough to put her on lights, just to check her levels daily. So the poor thing got her little heal pricked and blood drawn a lot. We checked out the next afternoon and got home and started getting adjusted. Then on Monday we got a call from the doc saying that her bilirubin levels had taken a big jump and they wanted to readmit her and put her on 3 different lights. It was a LONG night. I got to stay there with her so I could nurse every few hours, but her levels went down and we got to take her home around noon on Tues.
Other than that fiasco, things have been good. We're starting to establish what our new normal is, and we're adjusting to less sleep. Emerson has been really good. No major issues, just a little defiance here and there. I figure some defiance and tantrums are a lot better than open hatred towards the baby. Here's a few pics. We got Harper's newborn pictures taken this week, so I'll post some when I get them back. (There's a few on my Facebook page if you're dying to see.)
