We had such a crazy and fun Christmas this year. After a few work parties, a super fun night making gingerbread houses with friends, and and eating lots of food we headed up to the land of the north. My cousin, Janice, got married the Saturday before Christmas so we loaded up and packed for AN ENTIRE WEEK! Thank goodness for saving up our vacation time. Janice's wedding was beautiful, but cold, cold, cold! The rest of the week we just spent hanging out, playing in the snow, last minute shopping, cooking and eating several large boatloads of food, and organising and painting my mom's craft room. Okay, so I barely did a thing, but other people did a lot and I supervised. Most of the hard work actually happened while Greg and I were on our late anniversary date. It was really fun to go out. I talked Greg into seeing Twilight with me since I was about the only woman in UT who hadn't seen it yet. I LOVED the movie and Greg liked it, too. He even said that I could buy it when it came out. (I would have anyway, but the permission is nice!) On Christmas Eve Greg and I together with my old high school buddies Darby and Amber and their cute little families. Thanks for letting us hang at your house Schofies! Later we had an awesome Christmas dinner at my Grandma's house and another one the next day with ALL the extended family. Then we all rushed down south that Saturday because my sweet neice Sidney got baptised! So, to sum up our week: lots of family time, lots of food and fun, and not enough sleep.

Emmy's First!

We have such a blast with this little girl! I'm thinking that her spunkiness is pretty apparent in these photos. (click to enlarge) Emmy's birthday was on Nov. 26th - the day before Thanksgiving this year - next year it's on Thanksgiving. (bummer) We got a few friends and some cousins together and had lots of cake, ice cream and fun!

 

Happy Anniversary!

So I know that this is a little late, but Greg and I 'celebrated' our 6th anniversary on Sunday! We did actually have fun plans but our 102 & 103 degree temperatures had plans of their own.

We've had so much fun throughout these last 6 years! It's nice because we really seem to have an easy marriage. We genuinely enjoy hanging out with eachother, but can handle our alone time. I still pin Greg down and tickle his feet, (which causees MAJOR spasms), and he still teases me when I use the words 'itch' and 'scratch' incorrectly. (Hey, nobody's perfect!) I'm greatful everyday for a husband that loves me, understands me, and humors me. He's such a great guy and I feel lucky that he came into my life. Thanks, Honey! Here's to many more anniversaries!

Tis the Season...

This is a little Christmas-time quiz that has been floating around. I thought that it was fun to see what others' attitudes about Christmas were, so here are a few of mine.

1. wrapping paper or gift bags? Bags for odd shapes, but I love to wrap! (People in my ward used to pay me to come wrap their gifts for Christmas!)

5. do you like eggnog? Yes, but only diluted with skim milk.

7. worst christmas gift ever received? A candle shaped like a lump of coal.
8. hardest person to buy for? My mom or Greg
9. easiest person to buy for? Emmy!
10. do you have a nativity scene? Nope, but I would love to get the little people one!

13. when do you start christmas shopping? I usually start thinking about it in October, but shopping in November.
14. have you ever recycled a christmas present? No…. ;)
15. favorite thing to eat at christmas? Fudge!
16. lights on the tree? Only if I don’t have to put them there.
17. favorite christmas song? The Entire Muppets Christmas Album
18. travel or stay home? Travel a bit
19. can you name all of santa's reindeer? Only if I sing the song
20. angel or star? Angel at the moment but I would prefer a star.
21. open presents christmas morning or eve? Only in the morning, no teasers.
22. favorite ornament theme or color? Vintage modern (is that a theme?) and I like snowflakes.
23. favorite place for christmas dinner? My parent’s house
24. most annoying thing about this time of year? Worrying about money
25. what do you want for christmas this year? World peace..hehe, okay, slippers and gift cards.

Baby Mine...

I know that it's taken me a while to post about Emmy's first year, but I've still been processing that I have a 1 year old! We could not have gotten a better gift from Heavenly Father than our beautiful Emerson. Even as I type this I'm tearing up a bit because I love her so much, and I'm so amazed at how she's blessed our lives. I am a little sad that she isn't really a baby anymore; we've entered the "terror-dome" of toddlerhood! We've been having issues posting video, but we have some great walking ones. She's been walking for about a month now and we've had some MAJOR tumbles. I plan on having a whole separate post with pictures from her birthday because I took so many.
