Merry Christmas!

I hope that everyone is enjoying their holidays. This month has seriously FLOWN by! We've had a lot of fun this year seeing Emmy really get in to things. She stole a baby Jesus ornament off my sister's tree the other day and was kissing him and telling us to be quiet because he was sleeping. So cute. Anywho...Merry Christmas to our wonderful friends, family and blog-stalkers alike!

On My Mind...

There's been a lot of random thoughts running through my mostly empty mind lately, so I thought that if I wrote them down they might go away! We'll see.

Emerson has changed overnight it seems. She is seriously SO different. She is talking ALL the time, and is just a KID. There is no more baby left. Is this what happens when they turn 2? We had a rough few weeks with her and tantrums and such, but she has seemed to turn a corner. We have taken the binkie (plug as she calls it) away all except for bedtimes. It was bad the first few days, but now she willingly hands them over when she gets up. She's been GREAT lately! So funny; so smart; so much fun to be with.

My mom irons her sheets. Is this normal? I also used to think that it was normal for people to iron jeans, too. I honestly think it's crazy now, but I have moments when I'm making my bed and I can just hear my mom in my head saying that I should iron them. So not only am I slowly turning in to my mother, but I hear her voice in my head all the time!
Greg's had to go out of town quite a bit these last few months. I am SO grateful that he has a job and that we are able to support ourselves, but it sucks. Not so much that I can't handle the day to day stuff while he's gone, but I HATE that we've both gotten kind of used to it and it isn't as hard as it used to be. Does that make sense?

I'm sick of almost all of my Christmas decorations! Most of them are hand made (by me, so not great quality) or hand-me-downs. It's not just Christmas either. I've gotten to the point where I'd rather have completely blank walls than put stuff up that I don't think reflects my style. Am I being conceited or snobbish? I know what I like, but I'm not willing to fork out the cash to have it. Maybe someday.

Any one out there surprised that my daughter just measured in the 99th percentile for height? Yeah, me neither. She just turned 2 and she's a beanpole, but needs to wear a lot of 3T for length.

Our ward had a Christmas dinner and Santa came at the end. I thought Emmy might be a little nervous, but I wanted to try and get her first picture with Santa. She basically sprinted up so see him. Then after we got back to our table she found a guy in our ward and made him take her BACK up to Santa! She was standing by Santa and rubbing his knee and saying, "Soft Santa." So funny!
The pictures were just from my cell phone, so they aren't very good quality, but I'm glad I caught her silly moments with Santa. We put her to bed last night and could hear her over the monitor saying, "Santa, ho ho ho, Merry Kissmas." It's fun to have this holiday season where she is old enough to really participate and have fun. I can't wait to start some new traditions for our family.
